Insurance Updates
Dear Patient,
I am writing to inform you of my decision to terminate my participation with your dental insurance company, Metlife. The last day we will be in-network with Metlife is 9/27/23. We reached out to Metlife to ask for consideration of the reimbursement schedule to the office since it has not been updated since 2015. The Metlife representative directed me to the termination department as they have been in negotiations internally for years and could provide no further answers to our contract questions. It was a difficult decision to terminate the contract. However, it is critical to the health of my business and my ability to continue to provide the caliber of care you expect and I refuse to compromise.
I hope you remain with my practice, as I believe the relationship of trust and mutual respect that we cultivated and the quality of care you deserve is important. If you decide to stay, you will be responsible for payment of our office fee in full at the time services are rendered and we will send a claim on your behalf to Metlife. In turn, Metlife will reimburse you directly if your plan has out-of-network benefits.
My team and I work diligently to contact insurance companies, obtain benefit information, estimates, provide claim information and narratives to support services rendered to ensure you are getting the benefit that you deserve from your insurance company. Unfortunately, Metlife’s reimbursement schedule is not sustainable in our current business and economic climate.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide for your dental health.
Kind Regards,
Dr. Curley
